Thanks DoreenG and emilyb! This blazer is based loosely on Simplicity 2341, with an added front placket and covered buttons. (It's the same pattern I used for my "Wannabe Alabama Tuck Coat" which is also posted in projects.) I found some good mylar/plastic stuff for the stencil at my local art supply store, Artists and Craftsman's Supply. My earlier efforts were difficult because I was using mylar that was too thick, but the thin stuff is super easy to cut with an exacto knife, and seems to hold up fine.

Thank you faux nom! I was looking for a simple jacket pattern, but couldn't find any and your choice seems to be perfect :-) For the stencil I have very good experiences with the felt form AC. I've never tried mylar, but I will give it a try! :-)
