Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Rigid Heddle Weaving »

Instructions

5.5 x 72 in before finishing and exclusive of fringe.

Difficulty:

Category: Weaving

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Classic

Materials

Warp: Knit Picks City Tweed DK. Colour: Morning Glory Weft: Noro Yuzen. Colour: 6. Hemstitched fringe.

What was your inspiration?

The Noro yarn. It knits up kind of horribly, but is perfect in weaving. That's one of the great things I see about weaving: yarns behave entirely differently than they do in knitting.

What are you most proud of?

The beat is quite even. And the yarn is a good choice: it behaves awesomely.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Watch which yarn you choose for the warp. I was tempted to use the Noro for a warp, and it would have been terrible: way too soft. The "snap" test saved me from that error.
