Quilting: First Try

First Try

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Design It, Quilt It: Free-Form Techniques »

Instructions

My first practice piece from a 9 inch block I pieced years ago. "Scribbling" was fun! I was surprised the purple thread disappeared more on the printed light fabric than it did on the purple triangles.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Other

Style: Traditional

Materials

Orphan block. Thread 40 wt purple and pink

What was your inspiration?

Loving Cindy Needham's class.

What are you most proud of?

Combining elements from two different stencils to create my own unique pattern.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Keep practicing. Cindy's advice to have arms down and use 3 finger tips on each hand made a huge difference in my ability to control my movement of the square.

Well done. I like the way you combined two different stencil elements, that's fun.
