This runs really, really big. I shortened the length but on the next pair I will also shorten the crotch and armhole depths. The pants legs are also really baggy/roomy. I do love the detailing on them, though. Contrasting trim, box pleat and side slits on the shirt; false fly and pockets on the pants. I did not like the cheesy way they finished the back seam so did my own thing there. All in all ...

Materials

Pajama flannel.

What was your inspiration?

I need some warm jammies for the winter and am tired of paying for the crappy, store bought kind that never fit properly.

What are you most proud of?

The contrasting trim. And the buttonholes. I sewed these pajamas on my Bernina 830 Record. All but the buttonholes. Those were sewn on my Singer 600E using a buttonhole attachment. It makes perfect buttonholes.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Be aware that it runs big and make the proper adjustments to the pattern.

Super pjs crazyhippi! I'll have to give them a try. I run "big" too so I have trouble finding things long enough in the stride as well as sleeves and pant legs. Will look for the pattern and have a go. Great to see you posting again. Hope you'll finish your BOM! You have such great fabric and your quilt will be not only unique but gorgeous!

I'll be getting back to the quilt right after the holidays, Jean. I got bogged down with the gardening, and bees. This was my first honey harvest. And then I ventured off into sewing clothing. So many fun things to do and so little spare time.

What material did you use for trim? Is it bias tape? The PJ's look great.

I used the same fleece fabric that I used in the pants. Trying to tie it all together.

Very cute! I too like the detail on the top...the details, combined with your fabric choice create a nice retro look. Nice work!

Thank you. Yes, I was pretty excited to find the retro 70's flannel. You'd think I'dd have had enough of those colors, having grown up in the 70's. Come to think of it, I seem to remember our house having kitchen linoleum almost exactly like that. LOL! Speaking of the 70's, and your screen name, my mom used to raise Dachshunds and one of the puppies was named "Screaming Mimi".
