First Toe Up Socks

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Knit Original Toe-Up Socks »

Instructions

For the stripes to be the same on the second sock you need to identify the same "repeat" of the sock coloring at the beginning of each sock. Then it works.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Casual

Materials

I used a self-patterning yarn - it does all the work. This pair was made with the moccasin toe and afterthought heel from the class with Donna Druchunas.

What was your inspiration?

Donna Druchunas' Craftsy class was great. I was stuck before that class and now I'm doing great.

What are you most proud of?

The moccasin toe is much easier than it looks. Getting both socks to look the same was my goal and even though I had to restart the second sock to use the proper part of the stripe repeat, I figured it out on my own.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take it slow and know that you can stop the video and return to it at any time. Stick with it.

Thank you. This yarn was fun because it is "self-patterning". It is called Knitcol by Adrifil.
