What materials did you use? Plain white cotton (and blue dye). The shirt was a muslin I made to check the fit of a pattern - my husband wanted an Aloha shirt for an upcoming holiday. As the muslin turned out to be a good shirt, I decided to take the plunge and put it in a dye bath following Jane's instructions.

This is the way my muslins will go now! Noted to start using cotton thread for them - but in this case the white contrast stitching looks fine. I will go find some buttons and we're done. Love the bright, punchy colour. I had expected more contrast in the result, but I didn't use rubber bands or anything to hold the folds tighter, and the fabric took the dye rather well. I love the subtle patterning, though!
