What are you most proud of? That I am finally able to tat. My gramma tried teaching me as a child and I was never able to "get it"

This is my first attempts at tatting with sucess! When I was little my gramma tried to teach me how to tat. I never could get the hang of it. Gramma gave me some of her thread and tatting shuttles to keep and try on my own. I was never able to figure out the tatting even after she passed away. I watched youtube videos and have a small collecting of tatting books I have picked up over the past 2 decades. Local book sales are great for that. I am so glad my friend told me about Crafty and what it has to offer! This course is my first purchase I have made. Luckly I had a email that offered it on sale and I jumped on it. It ended up being a Christmas gift to myself. :) The pictures are my work ove the past 4 nights. The top red/wt is 10 crochet thread and the first three nights of trying. Upper left being the the first attempts. The larger multicolor thread is size 3 and what I made last night and today. The smaller butterfly, flowers, and chain are 20 size thread I did tonight. "Marilee, thank you so much for teaching me how to tat. " I know my gramma would be so proud to know that I am tatting even if I am 38. I never wanted to give up trying and knew I would "get it" someday. I look forward to trying other projects and even teaching the other woman at work how to tat at night. Thank you again!

Oh, yes indeed, you've got it! These are great first attempts! You're already getting a nice even tension in your stitches. For sure, a lot to be proud of, and now that you've caught on to the basics, the rest is much easier. Looking forward to seeing more of your tatting projects!
