What was your inspiration?

These are my scribbles from Lesson 2 in Machine Quilting Negative space. I tried to have a go at all of Angela's suggestions.

What are you most proud of?

I love the paisley, the top half was left to right then the bottom part right to left and they just fit so nicely together and add a bit of movement. I can definitely see myself doing a lot of those.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just keep practising you'll be surprised how quickly the flow of each design will come, some quicker than others but keep trying and don't give up on the hard ones.I didn't feel great about the swirls as I was doing them (so forced myself to do a lot of them for practice) but they did become easier and I think once they're all done and you look over them as a whole the overall effect is great, It's hard not to criticise this line and that curve as you go but when they're all done you wont notice the tiny details as much.

love it...just tried my first sample block today, and agree about the swirls....mine look wonky but overall for a first go, encouraged to keep trying! Great drawings!

Thanks Angela! Those brackets are brilliant, I had to learn to write them while studying Comp. Sci. so I'm glad they're now coming in handy.

looks awesome. Don't criticise it, remember black pen on white paper will show more than thread on a quilt, besides I think it looks great as is!
