First scrappy scarf project

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Rigid Heddle Weaving »

Difficulty:

Category: Weaving

Type of item: Accessory

For: Unisex

Style: Outdoorsy, Hipster, Traditional, Classic

Materials

Random worsted weight scrap yarn. All wool or superwash wool.

What was your inspiration?

Angela Tong's class on rigid heddle weaving. I LOVED this class. It was so easy to follow along. I love craftsy's learning platform. It's very user friendly. She gave excellent instruction and even though I didn't use the same loom as her, I had absolutely no issues. I'm so excited about my first project and am already starting on a second scarf for me!!

What are you most proud of?

The fact that I didn't have any problems with warping or keeping my edges somewhat clean and even!!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Go through the entire course once before you start and take video notes, then go back through it again and follow along. Your notes will be right where you left them in the video. Craftsy makes it very easy.

Weaving is an art form I would love to do. Your scarf has great colors, looks as though it has great drape and I love the fringe.
