What materials did you use?
cotton fabric, thread, batting
I made this quilt in 1976 for my mother. I had only a small picture of the LeMoyne star as my inspiration. I enlarged the picture to the size I wanted by using a grid and then figured out the materials required. I hand sewed and hand quilted the entire quilt without any assistance other than the guidelines in a book. That began my love of quilting.
Without doubt you LOVE your mother too much. The quilt is adorable. Sewing by hand make it more valuable. The fact this is your first quilt is real sign that you have found your proper hobby. Thanks for sharing.
I appreciate your comments. It was a very challenging project because I had no idea what I was doing; however, once I finished, I was quite proud of myself.
What an amazing story! The workmanship it just beautiful.
