In Craftsy's first-ever Block of the Month, Amy Gibson brings you 10 specific quilting techniques - appliqué, string quilting, paper piecing and more.
What materials did you use?
Cotton background and some bits of a Moda Jelly roll
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
struggled to sew the circles. I think next time I will use invisible thread
Love those black blocks. Nice job!
The colours are just gorgeous in this block, love it.
Thanks. When I started the quilt I had no idea how many bits of material we would need as it was my first ever quilting project. Needless to say I have developed a fetish for buying fat quarters> Most of the colours in these blocks came from a Moda Jelly Roll. Wish I knew what it was called. Threw the wrapping away! lol
oh me too, I have so much material I could make 20 quilts. I am just doing a quilt with moda cherish pieces, but I am not finding it that easy, the pieces seem to stretch real easy and the edges are really fluffy (even though they are cut with pinking shears) I know it takes longer but I think I will go back to cutting my own pieces up.
You have done well.
Thanks. When I look at the projects that are uploaded, I realise I have a way to go yet but really enjoying the experiance
Looks like modern art ;-)
Thanks, it unfortunately is still a UFO as I have been too busy with work to sew much this summer :(
