Here are some details about my project:

What materials did you use? Medium weight cotton canvas print

What are you most proud of? Top stitching turned out way better than I thought it would. Next time I'll be brave enough to make it more prominent

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Enjoy! The process made the project go faster than I thought it would and the results were excellent.

Your first jacket and it's a beauty, what a great job.

I love the fabric and your topstitching is superb! Thank you for sharing.

Thank you. It does look good from the top side. As I noted before, the bobbin thread was a challenge. I did try using regular construction thread in the bobbin but then the top side didn't look very good. As you noted, home sewing machines are problematic for this kind of stitching, mostly because I need to buy a special screwdriver to get into the bobbin to even see if I can adjust the tension. So instead I am buying a new straight stitch only machine! We don't have a baby lock dealer here but I got a machine with all the same features. Can't wait for it to arrive!
