What materials did you use? Cotton fabric, poly thread

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Keep your thread the same color on both the top and bottom until you master fmq. This is the first time I've used a different color on the back and I have been dabbling with FMQ for a couple of years now. The back of the block is not pretty.

Your FMQ enhances the block beautifully! Thank you for the good tip on thread color; sounds smart. And, thank you very much for the helpful advise you posted for me about using saran as I audition quilt designs!
