Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Stupendous Stitching: Adventures in Surface Design »

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Funky

Materials

Hand dyed cotton base, Multipurpose threads for couching and embroidery threads.

What was your inspiration?

Carol Ann's class on Stupendous Stitching. The piece will be incorporated with another to make a cover for my Overlocker as my sewing machine already has one and I would prefer my projects to be useful in nature rather than wall hangings. Besides they make my machines look great when not in use :)

What are you most proud of?

I didn't have to purchase any materials for this project and was able to use goodies from my stash. I was also able to use some calico I had hand dyed myself in the microwave oven.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

A couching foot would really help. I didn't have one on hand but will be looking to get one. As I live on an island it is not easy for me to access one immediately.
