First Alpaca yarn

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Spindling: From Fluff to Stuff »

Instructions

This is my first yarn to make. I just bought an Alpaca fleece and have been learning to card it and then to spin it.

Difficulty:

Category: Spinning

Type of item: Clothing

For: Children

Style: Outdoorsy, Traditional

Materials

Alpaca fiber

What was your inspiration?

I starting knitting last year, and naturally began to fall in love with different fibers and wanted to learn to process them from the beginning. I love the natural look of hand spun yarns!

What are you most proud of?

Teaching myself to process different fibers. Such Fun!!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take Craftsy classes! They are so helpful in teaching want you want to learn! I love them.

Beautiful. I'm making a winter scarf out of commercially purchased Alpaca using Tunisian crotchet technique. I also have a few rabbits which makes me think I need some Angoras to combine hobbies.
