What was your inspiration?
I was given a book for Christmas by a very good friend - "The Civil War Diary Quilt" by Rosemary Youngs. The book contains authentic diary entries by 10 women living during the Civil War. Some of the stories made me cry, they are all really interesting and it is not a period that is taught in UK so I wanted to learn more about it.
Sadly, there are no specific instructions for making the blocks in the book (and my skill level is not enough to work it out for myself) so I enrolled on this course to learn how to make some of them.
What are you most proud of?
learning to piece flying geese and put the blocks together without losing the points!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
keep quilting and use Craftsy courses to improve your skill levels
