What materials did you use? Excelsior moss, candle wax, pressed paper egg cartons

What are you most proud of? That I came up with a product that will burn for about 12-15 minutes, will easily start a fire with just one, and can be made up of repurposed stuff (the wax and egg cartons at least; I just happened to have an open bag of the moss taking up space when I made the first batch, so that kinda counts too, right? ;)

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Be careful with the hot wax! And only use the pressed paper egg cartons! NO STYROFOAM OR PLASTIC!! I put my egg cartons on a jellyroll pan (they have a raised edge all the way around) so the melted wax would not run all over the place; any wax that runs through can be scraped up and remelted. I also poured the wax in layers, letting it set-up for a bit in between pours; you want them to be pretty saturated for the longer burn time. I cut the lids and front edges off of the cartons before I make them too; a serrated steak knife makes a great "saw" (watch your hands, follow common sense safety like "cut away from yourself", etc. Safety glasses wouldn't go amiss either, in case of splatters)

Very clever!
