Quilting: Finished!
20 kudoz

Finished!

Instructions

I used Marcial McCloskey's "Block Party", a book of 120 9" block patterns for the blocks. I set them on point with a 1" sashing and finished with the tropical print for a border.

For: Home

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't give up! Ask for help from Craftsy friends if you run into a dead end. Thank you, thank you!! The narrow bright pink border idea was sheer genius! I'm so glad to have this completed!

This is simply gorgeous! Beautiful work. I especially like the scalloped border. I hope to do one someday.

Thank you. I love making the scalloped borders. They are so much easier than they look.

That is really beautiful. I love how the blocks are all different, but they go together so well.

Thank you so much! I've been eyeing your "Cats and Chocolate" and wondering how the technique will work with another set of floral prints I have sitting in my drawer.

If it is a large floral with lots of different colors it will probably be fine. I will try posting pictures of the ones I have in progress.

This is incredibly beautiful. What fabric line did you use. What did you use for a backing and how long did it take? You should be proud.

Oh, thank you! I chanced upon the tropical print at Joann's several years ago and it sat in my stash for a long time. The other fabrics are bits and pieces of from here and there, mainly my scrap stash. The backing is the same green that is in the setting triangles. I think I spent one summer, off and on between other things, to make the blocks and put the quilt top together and then it sat again for two years before I dragged it out and finished it.
