Instructions

Don't we all find a pattern for something and think - "I can make that better/different/easier? That's what I did with these little mitts.

Difficulty:

Category: Crocheting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Other

Style: Mod, Casual, Whimsical

Materials

I am using my hand spun wool yarn

What was your inspiration?

One of my co-workers was cold at work, but it wasn't very convenient to work with regular gloves on, so I made her some fingerless ones - next thing I knew, I was making them for myself and the other three ladies too.

What are you most proud of?

That they really love them and wear them all the time.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

There are lots of fingerless glove patterns on line right now -Find one you like and go for it. They are so easy! If you are making them for a specific person, make sure you get the measurement of their palm.

Yes, do your first circle, join, chain one and mark the first stitch, then do your second circle, slip stitch in the first stitch of that row, chain one for your next row. When you get 4 or 5 inches up, crochet in 10, chain 7, skip six and re-connect to the "body" of the mitt. Hope that makes sense..

so basically you just do a circle crochet and skip stitches for the thumb opening?
