Fingerless Gloves for handling rabbits

Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Functional

For: Unisex

Style: Eco-Friendly, Cute

Materials

Stretch denim from worn out jeans, cotton print fabric, thread.

What was your inspiration?

My sister breeds, shows, and sells rabbits and she needed something she could wear when she would move them from one area to another because some rabbits are crabby and will scratch or bite at anything they can get to. These help protect your arms from being shredded by those crabby ones.

What are you most proud of?

That my sister, who is very picky, actually liked them enough to tell me she liked them.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just lay your hand out like you're going to trace it like you did in grade school and make the pattern by cutting off the fingers and thumbs and make it a little wider to account for the height of your hand when flat. As for the edging, all I did was make binding for the two end openings, and bias binding for the thumb hole. Make sure to back stitch when putting this together because the seams get a good workout.
