Be careful sewing together your squares. My first attempt left me short when joining the blocks even though I used a scant 1/4 inch. Turned out to be the heavier weight of the background fabric I chose. When doing the 2nd quilt with the same weight I had no problems.Difficulty:

What was your inspiration?
The colors in the fabric line I chose.
What are you most proud of?
After goofing with my first attempt I bought different background fabric and made another quilt that came out great! And.. I finally finished both tops helping me to reach my goal of finishing things in the works BEFORE beginning more new projects.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Try several layouts. This block is very versatile and you can achieve a lot of different looks. I also like the border on the 1st quilt. Unfortunately I didn't have enough fabric to put one on the 2nd. Sew a practice block and square it up before going all out. Had I done this I would have caught the problem with my 1st quilt up front. In the long run it doesn't matter. I now have two quilts which would make a nice gift for twins!
