Filigree Display Cake

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Modern Piping »

Instructions

I traced the pattern with a toothpick, then a food marker. Easier to see. I ended up piping the border due to the color.

Difficulty:

Category: Cake Decorating

Type of item: Food

For: Other

Style: Whimsical, Classic, Traditional, Romantic

Materials

Royal Icing - CK premade with Joshua's recipe Disposable decorating bag Super black Red, black, and green fondant with Tylose for the flowers

What was your inspiration?

I tried copied that cake from class, but added the red flowers.

What are you most proud of?

I did it and feel that I can do it again and again.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Follow Joshua's recipes. Fluff is key. Don't be a nervous nilly, like me. Just do it. Use a dummy cake. If you use a real one, at least you can eat your projects.
