Love all of your felted projects!!! I did some nuno felting several years ago and loved doing it and loved the finished result. Wisb I had the time to try wet felting a hat on a form. I LOVE hats. Perhaps this summer will be the time for felting...................

Yes, and actually when I was a brand new wet felter it is where I started out. The tutorial is very straight foward and easy to follow with lots of instructive pictures. But be carful working with wool can become addactive!

Is the flanged brim cloche ok for a 1st hat? I have done some felting, but nothing like this. The flanged version is by far my favorite.

I looked at the hatshapers site and there are 2 cloche shapers: the bell cloche and the flanged brim cloche. Which is used for the class?

I'd like to do this project, but, is there a kit of the needed items? I have never done this and have no idea where to start!

There is no kit as of right now unfortunately, but I would start with buying some merino wool from etsy or somewhere else. Once you have your wool just gather together the other item listed like the bubble wrap and dish soap. Order in a hat shaper too of course. Then once you have all of your supplies make the hat over a couple of days. Also I think there might be wet felting kits on etsy, I will look for you andpost it here if I find any.

Hi there. I'm thinking about taking this class from you but I have a question. What do you mean by a cloche hat shaper mentioned in the materials list? How many felting novices have one? I am experienced at flat felting but I don't have any hat blocks. Please help.

You can find the Cloche hat shapers there, I guess not many felting novices have a hat shaper unless they are into making hats, I had one as a novice. It is good that you are experienced at felting that will make my class a peice of cake. Read about the hat shapers and feel free to ask any other questions you have.
