What was your inspiration?
I despise plastic toys. They break. Who knows what is in them. There are so many reasons to dislike them. Someone gave my daughter a plastic doctor kit for Christmas. Before long every part was lost or broken. She wanted a new kit, so I engineered this felt kit. I love it because there are so many extras that you cannot get with a plastic kit. The bandages and splints send kids to the moon. I mean their favorite thing to play with is bandaids.
What are you most proud of?
This kit may seem complicated, but it is really simple and a beginner can make it. Each piece is really easy to sew. I also make this kit and gift it with a couple of inexpensive stuffed dogs or cats and call it a vet clinic for animal loving kids.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
This kit is a really nice gift for any occassion, but it is an especially nice gift for any child who is going into the hospital or has a parent who is ill. I like to make and donate a few to the children's hospital every year.
