February BOM #1

Balkan Puzzle

Balkan Puzzle

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Craftsy Block of the Month 2012 »

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Traditional, Classic

Materials

Cotton fabric left over from other projects.

What was your inspiration?

Amy's BOM 2012 course.

What are you most proud of?

Not very proud of this one - I'll probably do it again as it came out a bit smaller than the necessary 12.5" x 12.5" and the points aren't very sharp. I was very worried until I looked at the comments made by other quilters and found that I'm not alone! This is one of the really valuable things about the Craftsy courses - you're not alone! If you come up against a problem, it's so reassuring to see that someone else has encountered it too and somebody out there may well have a solution to it! And of course, your tutor will very often come up with an answer as well.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Make sure you use a scant 1/4" seam - all those tiny bits extra add up and, hopefully, when you finish it your block will be the correct size.

Oh dear. I've been having trouble today, but the helpdesk people are very helpful and I think I may have sorted it out now. Do email them and see what they say. I'm sure they will help.

Thank you - I think I'm going to have to try again though as it's not quite big enough.
