What are you most proud of?

I'm very proud that my seam match!! Don't be fooled, I unpicked at least 4 seams to make them match but it was soooo worth it!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take your time and starch the heck out of your fabric.

I had that problem too. It has to be a scant 1/4 inch seam. I did a second one and it was much better. Love your colour combinations. It will be beautiful when done.

I have a bit of an issue with this block. All my squares were on point as far as the size. When I joined all of them the finished block ended up about an inch short and did not measure 12.5. Any suggestions as to why this happened?

Hi pmh724, did you check your seam allowance to ensure it's a 1/4"?

Thank you for your help. You do an amazing job of choosing colors to bring the block to life. (I am "following" you on Craftsy.) Can't wait to see your next project!

Wow, thanks Marty23, I honestly haven't been quilting that long, just since last summer but I have been sewing clothes and home decor stuff since I was a teenager and I studied art through high school and at an art school. I hope you post some of your work too!

Thx for responding. Do you starch it in the laundry? or spray starch? If spray starch - before or after you cut the pieces?

I do a bit of both, before and after but my starch isn't very strong. I love the smell!

Sorry - not paying attention. What do you mean about starching the fabric?

If you use starch on your fabric (regular laundry starch for shirts), it makes the fabric stiffer and easier to sew.

I would love to see it as part of a full quilt, given the effect you added with the pale and charcoal grey. Is this your plan? Or you simply wanted to give it a "twist"? Very creative. Diane Ct
