Pay close attention to your seam allowances. Use a scant 1/4 inch to make this come out at 12.5 inches. I had to "reverse sew" to correct my seam lines and finally got the block to come out the right size.Difficulty:

What are you most proud of?
Being able to fix my mistake easily and save this georgous block. I was then inspired to use this block as well as a few others I made from the BOM class for seat cushions for our church members who need a little extra comfort during our various services.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Slow and steady wins this race. I like to hurry and get this done so I have a sense of accomplishment, but when I do, I often have to go back and fix my errors I could have avoided by going just a tad slower.
