Ok - guess I am going to have to bite the bullet and put this class to good use. Wish me luck! Your project is beautiful and gives me hope that maybe I can actually master feathers.

Hi there! This is beautiful! Is it hard to do? I just bought a new machine with a long arm and I would like to make a quilt for my granddaughter for her graduation. I'm scared!

A real longarm? Lucky! I used the Bernina frame and the 820, By halfway I had only 6" quilting space and the chevrons were way taller than that. I had to roll it back and forth to get to the quilting area, and you can see at the sharp poinst, my petals were more squared and shorter. I am giving it to my daughter and she is no quilt police, so who is to know, haha!.

Thank you so much for the nice words! It is helpful when you know the right technique. Next I will be doing the D9P to practice the question mark feather in a square. Wish me luck!

It is easy after I the 20 pages of sketching and doodling custom feathers, Once I am at the machine my hands just go to auto mode. The first row of feathers were long, skinny and stiff-looking, the later ones were more fluid and rounded.
