I designed this for my mother who was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer last year. I used a machine washable yarn so it can be washed easily. Someone suffering through chemo and radiation won't have to worry about it getting dirty. Extra rows of garter stitch can be added or removed for easy sizing. The crochet edge makes it tighter and less flexible. I made bracelets for my daughter, sister in law, and myself in support of my mother.
By publishing this, I hope that people will make these for breast cancer patients and to support breast cancer patients. It would be wonderful if a knitting group make some for patients at local cancer treatment facilities.
What are you most proud of?
The fact that I was able to chart out and design a project by myself!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
