What was your inspiration?
Scrabble Tile Pendant Charms are very popular and instructions for making them can easily be found on the internet. I made this necklace set as a Christmas gift for my daughter, who is a devoted Smashing Pumpkins fan. I chose images from the internet (album covers of your recipents favorite band make great pendant charms) and reduced the images to .75" x .82" in size (the perfect size for scrabble tiles). After printing them, I glued them to the blank side of the scrabble tiles and added a generous layer of poly resin and allowed to dry before gluing the silver pendant loop on the back. I made a necklace out of rat tail cord (about 20" long). The scrabble tile charms in the set are easily interchangable to creat different looks! It was a fun project and, if I know my daughter, she will LOVE it! (Shhh! Don't tell her, it's a surprise.)
What are you most proud of?
I am excited about how they turned out and I think its presentation in the box highlights the charm set well.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Check the internet for step-by-step instructiions. These charms are quite easy to make, but allow about 2 days for the resin to set up before wrapping or packaging.
