Category: Quilting
Type of item: Functional
For: Children
Style: Cute, Casual, Traditional
Materials
I used cotton prints for the top, white flannelette for the middle layer and dark green flannelette for the back. All were cut in 9" squares. I also used two different themed panels both were 6" deep and ran the entire width, one for the top and one for the bottom, just for a different look
What was your inspiration?
I was asked by a work mate to make a quilt with this theme, but the sex of the child was unknown. So I made two, this one I thought was more 'boy' but this is what they chose for their new niece
What are you most proud of?
That trying something different (panels at each end) worked well and didn't detract from the body of the quilt, but did enhance it as I had hoped.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Experiement, you may be surprised!!
