What materials did you use? Thinking this was just a "practice" project, I shopped for inexpensive cotton at a local fabric store, and used mostly thread on hand, even some shiny rayon (even tho it wasn't recommended). I did buy some fine Bottom Line (Superior) for the background quilting so it would disappear.

What are you most proud of? I figured out how to do the pumpkin-seed design with NO retracing. I'm pretty happy with the Dragonfly

What advice would you give someone starting this project? It took quite a bit of time. Plan to spend the time so you can complete it - because every lesson is well worth the time spent on it. Practice each skill first on small samples, but definitely do the entire project. Don't stop with the practice samples.

My photo doesn't do the colors justice. It's a light robin's egg blue.

Also be very careful with blue pounce powder. I couldn't get all of it to wash out. White was no problem.

I really like your use of color threads in your practice project!
