What was your inspiration?
Saw the pattern in a discontinued pattern sale.
What are you most proud of?
overlaying the front panels of velvet with the stretch lace. The lace would not stay in place, so I "pin basted" the entire surface to eliminate shifting while I basted them together in the seam allowances.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Pre-measure all the pieces to make sure the width and height is appropriate for the wearer. This is a very fitted boned bodice and needs to fit perfectly. There are eight seams, since it has princess seams, and only so much can be adjusted with the lacing.
