What was your inspiration?

This was a gift for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. I incorporated pictures of their wedding, and of them as a couple throughout their marriage, pictures of us children and grandchildren and of their friends.

What are you most proud of?

The family and friends font was hand embroidered and it turned out really well.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take your time, and break it down into smaller steps otherwise it can be overwhelming

This is absolutely spectacular! It was only after I'd looked at and admired the quilting and applique and had shown it to my husband that I suddenly noticed the photographs! What a wonderful and unique gift! And how on earth did you do the "Family" and "Friends" words? Not applique, surely?

thank you so much. I embroidered the words using a satin stitch with perle cotton 12 wt. It was the first time I had done the photos and was really pleased how easy it was to do. Just make sure that your photos are a high resolution otherwise they come out a bit blurry.

This is incredible. I thought it was so beautifully done and then I saw the photos on the border! An amazing piece of family history.
