Our wonderful fall trip to the Easter Sierra

A great thing about winter is that the light is always low and that gives great shadows all the time. There is really nice light here. It looks like you have not fully decided what your photo is about, however. When you put the subject in the center like this, that tends to be a weaker way of composing and does not give emphasis about what your photo is really about, emphasis viewers like. There are great shadows, for example, so if you put the central subject high in the frame, you could have emphasized them. But if it is the scene and the location that is important, then we don't need to see all of that blank snow at the bottom of the image. Emphasize what is important then, the rocks in the foreground with the background behind.

Ok, I understand what you are saying and thanks for the comments, I will try to keep that in mind. To make a mistake is a good way for me to learn what I can do to improve my photos.
