What was your inspiration?
I really like ostrich eggs but it is not very easy to find them. I was looking for a different and cheaper solution to have a decorated object that could look like a much important item
What are you most proud of?
I think that there is nothing that exciting than completely transforming one thing and give it a brand new aspect. And if you work with poor materials or with salvage materials then you feel much proud of your work.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
First be careful when applying gesso on plastic. Wait untill perfectly dry and in case apply a second coat so to allow color to adhere to the egg surface.
When you do fake marble try not to exceede with color or veins. Try to be natural.
