What are you most proud of? I designed it and knit several in less than a month. I was careful to make it easy enough for beginners but still appealing to advanced knitter. The colorwork progresses from very easy small peerie patterns to fairly complex OXO border patterns, the first one is easier than the second. Your skills will build as you knit the vest! I also wanted to design a vest that would look just as nice in only two colors.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Take you time, relax and enjoy yourself.

So pretty......and to think it was designed especially for us to learn!!! My nieces tell me that Fair Isle is very 'in' with the younger crowd, and I have seen it quite a bit in catalogs and magazines.

It was all over the runways of Paris and New York last fall. I think it is here to stay for a while. There is so much fun you can have with Fair Isle knitting. I've got many vests on my Pinterest "Knit Love: page. I keep finding more!

Is there a kit for this class?? It might be easier for some of us first timers at Fair Isle to follow the colors that are shown on the chart that I peeked at,,,, Thanks! LOVE this vest!

Both Yarn Barn in Virginia and Weaving Works in Seattle have kits for the class. The information is on the "Announcements" board. Craftsy is offering a kit in Cascade 220 DK. I have not knit with this yet, but I think some of your classmates may have.

I was wondering about replacement colors from Knit Picks Palette Yarn? I know you have used their yarn in some of the other projects you have designed. I tryed to match colors but they do not have color cards for Palette. I was wondering if you would recommend colors in Palette that would be close to the vest shown on your websight. The colors appear different from those provided by Brown Sheep. Any Advice would be happily received!

The Shetland wool is very itchy, so I would like to use merino or something with a tighter twist. Can it work?
