Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Design It, Quilt It: Free-Form Techniques »

Instructions

I designed the quilt myself after being inspired by Cindy Needham's course.

Difficulty:

Category: Home & Garden

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Traditional, Classic, Romantic

Materials

This quilt started out as a vintage tablecloth. I hand appliqued english paper pieced dresden fans in the center of the cloth, added cotton fabric borders, also appliqued with more fans. The fans are made of a variety of non-traditional fabrics: silk, satin, brocades etc.

Is this your project? Tell us more!

Absolutely GORGEOUS work! I love how you complimented the original linen by using it as the center of a larger piece. Your design and quilting are superb!!!

Beautiful quilting and applique'... It looks like it's hanging at a show, did you win a ribbon? If not, those judges must be crazy! I'm going to Cindy's blog now to see if you sent her any info there...
