What was your inspiration?
A friend of mine likes to travel with her iPad and have it handy when she's sightseeing and wants to take a photo and Email it to the people back home. So she asked me to come up with a handy tote bag with shoulder straps for easy carrying. She said she also wanted it felted "to make it cushion-ee, please."
What are you most proud of?
I specialize in easy patterns for Beginner knitters. This is an easy knit, worked flat and seamed together. There's minimal shaping and I mean MINIMAL! And you only have to pick up 3 stitches. I really think this is a fun and easy felted project that will produce a wonderful and useful end result. And I know it makes a great gift because my friend loved hers and I've made several more for men and women friends. They're all very happy!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
If you haven't tried to knit and felt yet, I encourage you to do so. It's a lot of fun but I do have to warn you that it's very addicting. Also, as with some of my other projects, I encourage you to consider needle felting as a way to embellish your projects.
