Instructions

This requires a 'rubber' mouse pad. The plastic coated tops or all plastic style mouse pads will not work!

Difficulty:

Category: Other

Type of item: Functional

For: Unisex

Style: Funky, Cute, Classic, Casual, Holiday, Whimsical

Materials

Cotton Fabric, Fusible Interfacing and recycled Mouse Pad

What was your inspiration?

Looking for inexpensive items to make for a charity event. Raising money for the Humane Society.

What are you most proud of?

They sold out!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Be careful cutting - the rubber from the mouse pad cuts real easily. It's okay that you cut it - but if you get real crazy you may need to adjust the other side to match - tee hee - or maybe you can just cut it into a fun shape :)

ALSO!!! If you use a light fabric against a dark mouse pad the original design may show through... if you look really close at my Kitty Chronicle mouse pad you'll see some faint images of the original design showing through the white areas.

if using interfacing & using it to attach to fabric what makes it then adhere to the mouse pad?

You use two sided fusible -- Pellon carries it... it's like 97F or something -- I know both Joanns and Hobby Lobby carry it.

All of your projects are FANTASTIC!! They ALL make lovely gifts. The little purses can be filled with checks, with the new "gold" dollar coins, or with whatever. All of the projects look flawless too. Great job!

I like this project this would be something home made that you could give as a Christmas gift, and it would be very personal.
