What materials did you use? 15m X 6mm multi purpose rope, fabric, thread, craft super glue and weather proof garden chain.

What are you most proud of? I was pleased with the design and shape when I initially finished it but it looked a bit...hmm...once I'd filled it with dirt, water and put all that pressure on my stitches. But it does the job and is seem to be holding water better, so I guess I am proud of that. And its more unique than anything I'd get at the shops.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Be prepared for the dye in the rope to stain light coloured fabrics when it gets wet! I hadn't even considered this! Luckily my rope was red so its just made my white patterned fabric pink instead, which still looks ok. Also, if you want it to retain a perfect shape then you'll need to line it with something firm.

I made my grand children Easter baskets last year with this technique. Yours is beautiful!

Thank you. What a good idea about the easter baskets! I'm wondering now if there's time for me to give them a go for my kids before this Sunday :)

What a great idea for potted plants. I wanted to have some potted plants at my new house, but I am not too thrilled with the choices for pots. I've been wanting to try this technique. Now I have a reason! Bravissimo!
