Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Beginner Serging: Machine Basics & Techniques »

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Functional

For: Women

Style: Traditional, Cute

Materials

Old Table cloth and a fat quater.

What was your inspiration?

I was inspired by the photos posted by others who have taken the class. I mean I couldn't be the only one who struggled with zippers.

What are you most proud of?

I have always been afraid of sewing zippers so I avoid them at all cost - I always get so confused with the direction the of the fabric to zipper. But I decided I had to do it sometime, Using my serger for the first time and making a project with a zipper as my first project - I conquered them both.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Follow the directions and watch Amy's video for this project as many times as you have to if you haven't worked with zippers before.

Nicely done! I, too, am in awe of zippers (Mom never really focused on that lesson). And speaking of recycling - I'm using fabric from old clothes to make doll clothes! Cool, huh?
