What materials did you use? cotton fabrics, batting, sewing and quilting thread, basic quilting supplies

What are you most proud of? The crocheted centers of the flowers on one of the blocks. If you look at the picture "blocks1" you can see on the right a loge flower at the top left of the block with 3 smaller flowers. The large flower was "supposed" to be in center with 4 smaller flowers in each of the corners. I off-set the larger flower and added some chain stitching for "baby" flowers. Used beads (rings actually - from the jewelry section of the hobby store) as the babies. Then I used embroidery floss to crochet the center of the large flower. Used knitting marker rings as the base of the centers of the smaller flowers and crochet their centers. I am also very happy the way the quilting highlights the quilt.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? When you work on an applique project, make it your own! Feel free to "jimmy" the pieces so that the blocks look pleasing to you! Look through all your craft supplies for embellishments!

Connie, you modest girl!! this is NOT a "2" on the difficulty range! It is so wonderful, you did an amazing job. I love your interpretation and the crochet. A beautiful, beautiful heirloom!
