What was your inspiration?

I chose the starter block from fabrics that had a great motif for the corner. I wanted to play off off the log cabin because I felt the logs would be a good opportunity to show how the fabrics would play with each other. I wanted to use the same basic block for both for easier comparison. I did find that the yellow and red large scale print used for the first set of logs on the large scale print block ran into colors and made it difficult to see the edges.

What are you most proud of?

I really like the blended scale block, which surprises me. Mixing the prints with some other fabrics makes it fun to look at. I only had fat quarters that I worked with, but considering using up the rest of the fabric and putting them together in a modern design with a large field.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Throw your large scale prints out on the floor and see which ones want to play together. There are probably some surprises.
