What was your inspiration?
Blue one: I started crocheting after watching the first bit of first lesson. I knew I didn't want a sphere but something a bit flatter, and the rest kinda just evolved from there. I didn't notice before halfway through his body that I had actually been working double crochet instead of single crochet, so he is obviously full of little holes everywhere. I really liked him at the point, though, so I couldn't make myself tear him up and start all over.
Brown one: I wanted eyes on stalks so I started with those, and the rest just evolved.
What are you most proud of?
My son is getting to big for toys - he is 11 and very grown up, if you ask him (at least when we are watching), but when he saw Evo, he immediately asked if could have him, and went and played with it. "Look mum, he's flying!" Now we agreed that he will draw some monsters for me, and I will try to bring them to life in crochet - that's teamwork. :D Same thing happened with the brown monster, which he decided should be named Bob.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Eh - watch what you are doing, and do the right type of stitching from the start. ^_^
