What was your inspiration?
I have such fun figuring out reversible designs and making snowflakes, I couldn't resist combining the two to create an afghan covered with giant snowflakes!
What are you most proud of?
I love how the snowflakes turned out! This is a nice warm afghan for winter weather!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
This is not as complicated as it looks! The reversible design is achieved by alternating rows of white with shades of blue or grey, using a combination of sc and long hdc which are worked into the previous row. The long hdc are worked with white on odd rows and the background colors on even rows creating the reversible effect. The background color rows are woven in at the ends, and a length of yarn is left at each end on all the white rows to be incorporated into the fringe. A design graph is also included with the pattern.
The finished afghan size is 51" wide x 67" long (not including fringe). The pillow is 18" square.
This pattern is available for $4.50 and is written in U.S. terms.
