What was your inspiration?
As part of a contest here in Romania, I was challenged to use my wires to create something on "Ethnic Treasuries" theme.
After many days of thinking, I came up with this pendant, a piece which reflects the old motive of Romanian carpets, sewed with wood machines decades ago. I'll also upload two pictures with wood machines to see what it looked like.
The idea is simple now, after clering it up: I imagined I found a very old carpet and I had to restore it, well, at least a part of it. So I took a piece of it and I adjusted its lower ends in beautiful curls (see the silver plated wire curls and metallic beads). Then I worked on the top side, where I had to remove the old colored strings. All these being done, I imagined I would better knot the long strings and make something as a loop there, in order to allow me to hang that beautiful piece of carpet on an empty wall, as a trophee. After all, it was my work there, saving that piece of carpet from being thrown away.
Well, that was the idea I was working on... and the final result is a beautiful pendant, all made of silver plated wire, black & mauve craft wire and metallic beads.
It measures about 9.5 cm long and 4 cm in its width.
I hope you like it, too.
Thanks for stopping by,
delilah
