What was your inspiration?

I stumbled across a new cast-on method I had never seen before...the Estonian cast on. It is used for sock knitting, but when knitted in thick yarn, it just makes such a pretty edge.

What are you most proud of?

Developing a new unusual hat, I might try some small pompoms or tassels next.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This is an intermediate project only because of the cast on and bind off process. The cast-on is a little complicated at first,but there is a great video online by Nancy Bush, that is very helpful.

You'll also have to bind off with tapestry needles using the grafting method, but I have detailed step-by-step pictures included in the pattern and you can find this information in many knitting books and online.
