What was your inspiration?

A car called Esme! My other half has recently purchased to old cars, one (Pearl) is in pieces in the garage, she is a work in progress for him! The other (Esme) sits in the carport waiting for that long picnic drive. I made this quilt to keep in Esme in case she breaks down on a cold winter day/evening on said long drive. My daughter has also given Dad an emergency kit complete with bottled water/batteries/protein bars/ a roll of toilet paper - need I go on!

What are you most proud of?

I think the colours of the quilt are very much 1964ish (the year in which Esme came off the production line). Oh and by the way, we have been on that long drive and no I didn't need to used it, phewww.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't go out and purchase a 1964 Corevette so you can make a quilt. Just make the quilt - it's much cheaper.
