What are you most proud of? This was the first wedding cake that I ever made start to finish and I am so proud of the fact that it looked exactly like the bride wanted it to and it tasted wonderful.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Anyone can make a wedding cake, but give yourself plenty of time to practice the recipes so they will be perfect for the final cake.

beautiful cake, A Bernina contest? Did you win a Bernina Sewing Machine?

I wish...I got blown out of the water by a wedding dress who had A LOT of friends who were willing to get a lot of Craftsy email.

Amaretto... mmmm.... Most wedding cakes are dry, with that much Amaretto I'll bet yours was moist and tasty. It is beautiful too. If you were able to create the bride's vision, this cake is a masterpiece. Well done!

Hi- There isn't a website. This is just a cake a made for my friend, Kelly. I will have to change that in the way the profile is written.

Your opening project to the Craftsy platform is quite the eye candy, Good job! Are those sugar flowers on the cake? Nice color balance too. Did you custom make the ribbons?

09/06/2013 Flag

Thank you. I used silk flowers that were smaller versions of the brides bouquet. The ribbon is also just silk ribbon. All the white decorations are buttercream.

Opps, forgot one more question, how'd you keep the separation pillars from sinking into the cake layers beneath them?

09/06/2013 Flag

The cake layer are separated by Wilton cake spikes. They taper to a point and go all the way through the cake layer
